This language learning strategy is called “Throw Spaghetti at the Wall.” LOL.

Tanya I was practicing my Spanish the other day and had a literal WALL OF WORDS that I needed to commit to memory on a sheet of paper in front of me. I actually started looking at the word origins of each word to see whether I might be able to "make connections" like Mihalis suggested above. It actually worked pretty well. There were some word roots and origins where I was like "OH, that makes a lot of sense." It made learning these words so much easier. IDK how much this might help with Thai (probably not at all), but perhaps it might help you here and there.

Tan’ka! It is amazing how timely this essay has come out for me! I am going to hang that piece about spoon feeding our brain on the wall and read it every day ( being currently preoccupied with preventing brain drain in the future… well , you know why😔)

Being also a visual person, I am also very audio- (how do you call it ?) I perceive information by hearing it really well.

My Monday does not have a color, but it has an unmovable location , like in of our Soviet school agenda, if you remember:)

And, if I am not mistaken, that couch plant of yours was photographed by my phone so where is the credit?😉😂)

I don't think words have a chance to even enter my head if I know I'm about to write them down.

My Monday has no colour, at least I don't think it does. It sounds like you may experience synesthesia which is amazing! I've tried to learn more about it but there isn't much out there that gave me the information I wanted. I think the closest I get to experiencing that is associating smells with colours but I don’t think that counts.

No, I do not grow greens in my furniture. That’s pretty cool.

"I just like colored pens, ok?" Too real lol. I have so many colorful pens and highlighters and seek every opportunity to use them and there just isn't enough time 😂

A coworker of mine, with many years more experience and wisdom, told me once "you write things down so you can forget them" and that seems to ring true here. We had a project manager who took endless notes but never seemed to remember a single thing she wrote down.

"bloody Monday" seems to be colored by red or dark Grey, no? If I would have not heard this phrase would I still think of it with these colors? I can understand that a color symbolizes a sense or a feeling derived from a meaning of a word to me. But, it sounds like the association you make between a day and a color has no reason. It just happens in your mind. Do you associate colors with other type of words?
